Lifting of suspension notice for Alliance Divine Impex Pte Ltd

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) lifted the suspension of Alliance Divine Impex Pte Ltd, a food processing establishment, on 21 October 2020.

On 12 October 2020, during an inspection of the said premises, it was observed that there was severe cockroach and fly infestation within the premises. In the interest of public health, SFA instructed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the cleanliness of its premises.   

Alliance Divine Impex Pte Ltd, which was suspended from 13 October 2020, is allowed to resume operations as it has rectified the lapses that were identified leading to its suspension (https://www.sfa.gov.sg/newsroom/food-hygiene-notices/detail/suspension-of-licence-of-food-establishment-at-8a-admiralty-street-06-26-singapore-757437).

Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure that regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.

All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management. SFA will take enforcement action against food operators who do not adhere to regulations or comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements. Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $100 for every day or part thereof during which the offence continues after conviction.
