Lifting of Suspension of NS Catering Services Pte Ltd’s Food Business Operations

                The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has lifted the suspension of the food business operations of NS Catering Services Pte Ltd, located at 3015 Bedok North Street 5, #02-02, Shimei East Kitchen, Singapore 486350.

2             On 20 May 2024, during an inspection of the implicated premises, non-compliances such as severe pest infestation (live cockroaches), dirty kitchen floor, and dirty exhaust filters were observed. In the interest of public health, SFA instructed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the food safety practices and cleanliness of its premises.

3             NS Catering Services Pte Ltd, which was suspended from 20 May 2024, is allowed to resume operations as it has rectified the lapses that were identified leading to its suspension. Following the lifting of suspension, SFA will continue to place NS Catering Services Pte Ltd under close surveillance to ensure they adhere to food safety requirements.

4              Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.

5              All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management. SFA will not hesitate to take firm enforcement action, including prosecution in court, against offenders. Any person convicted of an offence under the Sale of Food (Non-Retail Food Business) Regulations can be fined up to $5,000.
